Current road works information in PDF format
Walsall Council acts as the highway authority for the borough and coordinates the works of statutory undertakers, developers and other external organisations as well as our own repair, maintenance and improvement programmes.
We maintain all of the roads within the borough with the exception of the M6 motorway and A5 Watling Street which, forming part of the nation's strategic highway network, are managed by the Highways England. Details of works on these roads, together with relevant contact details can be found at www.highways.gov.uk.
Real time traffic information on roads managed by the Highways Agency can be found at www.trafficengland.com.
It is recognised that the M6 motorway works are having a significant impact on the borough’s roads. We are working to mitigate their effects by monitoring and managing signal controlled junctions and seeking to ensure that wherever works are required on our network they take place in a manner that minimises the disruption to your journey.
