Private landlord Bond Scheme
A Bond Scheme has been developed by Walsall Council to help people in Walsall who are homeless or threatened with homelessness to find accommodation within the private rented Sector. The bond is a written agreement between the Landlord, Applicant and Walsall Council that the council will be financially responsible for rent arrears and/or the cost of any damage to the property; (up to the value of one month’s rent) caused by the applicant during the tenancy.
The scheme has many benefits for landlords such as; providing a ready supply of prospective tenants, a free tenancy inventory before and after the tenancy, long term lets, guidance and assistance with housing benefit claims, free of charge Tenancy Agreement plus many more.
