The health and fitness development team is responsible for developing and implementing projects and initiatives that help to increase activity levels to benefit the physical, social and mental health of local people.

Time to change and Way 4 Ward

The programme's purpose is to give adults and young people one to one advice on ways of becoming more physically active in a safe and informed way, by offering flexible yet structured advice. The Time to Change programme has links to a wide range of identified community activity sessions which adults can be signposted to Time to Change, and young people to Way 4 Ward.

The programme is available to anyone who are presently not as active as they could be and to those who have specific medical conditions which may be aided by increasing the amount of exercise they do.

Designed to reduce your risk of falling, by using exercises that work on balance, strength, stamina, posture, mobility and co-ordinaation.
