The next stage of consultation on Walsall Site Allocation Document (SAD), Walsall Town Centre Area Action Plan (AAP) and the Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) has now started.
Consultation on Draft Black Country Air Quality Supplementary Planning Document (SPD)
The four Black Country councils (Sandwell, Dudley, Walsall and Wolverhampton) are consulting on a draft Black Country Air Quality Supplementary Planning Document (SPD).
This SPD sets out guidance for addressing air quality issues, especially as a result of transport emissions. It is aimed at all those involved in the submission and determination of planning applications where air quality needs to be considered.
The consultation period runs for a period of 8 weeks from Monday 29th February to Monday 25th April 2016.

Publication Stage Consultation Update
Following approval at Cabinet on Wednesday 3rd February the Publication consultation on the Site Allocation Document and Walsall Town Centre Area Action Plan along with the draft Community Infrastructure Levy Charging Schedule will start on Monday 7th March until Tuesday 3rd May 2016. The Preferred Option Consultation is now closed
The Preferred Options stage of consultation for the Town Centre Area Action Plan and Site Allocation Document and the Preliminary Draft Community Infrastructure Levy Charging Schedule ran from Monday 7th September until Monday 2nd 5pm November 2015 (8 weeks). Thank you to those who have taken the time to comment on the documents. We will be sending out acknowledgement letters/emails to confirm receipt of responses in due course. The council will consider all of the representations received and will be responding as it works towards the next stage of the plans. It is intended there should be another round of consultation early in 2016.

Cabinet Approval for Next Stage of Walsall Plans
Cabinet on 22/07/2015 has approved the Preferred Options stage of consultation for the Town Centre Area Action Plan and Site Allocation Document and the Preliminary Draft Community Infrastructure Levy Charging Schedule. Shop Front Supplementary Planning Document (SPD) Consultation - 15 September to 31 October 2014
It has been identified that there is a need to improve the standard of shop fronts within the borough. Improvements to the quality of advertisements, lighting, security and overall design of shop fronts is needed if Walsall’s town centres are to continue to thrive, remain vibrant and compete with other town centres beyond the borough. Revised timetable for Walsall Planning 2026 Local Plans
A new timetable for the production of Walsall Site Allocation Document and Walsall Town Centre Area Action Plan was agreed by Walsall Cabinet on the 10th September 2014 – see Local Development Scheme webpage for more information.
Revised Willenhall Conservation Area Appraisal and Management Plan
The council is embarking on a review of Willenhall Conservation Area Appraisal and Management Plan. The revised document will be consulted on for 6 weeks between 21 August and 2 October 2014, and will be discussed at the Willenhall Town Centre Partnership meeting on Tuesday 16 September 2014.
