Creative Development Team

Supporting communities to develop their ideas, aspirations and needs for the future

We are a close-knit team of arts development workers who help communities realise their ideas and we enable organisations and services to work with Walsall's communities. In 23 years we have delivered over 700 projects throughout Walsall, the Black Country and the West Midlands to the value of £4.5 million. Since 2008 alone we have helped more than 200 organisations and worked with 32,000 community participants. The team has received international, national and local awards and recognition.

Who we are

We are a team of creative practitioners who oversee the joint planning, commissioning and delivery of participatory arts programmes.  We open doors for people and organisations using participatory and community arts activities such as music, performance, new media, creative writing, design and visual art as the inspiration.

Our role is to be a catalyst in finding the opportunities where the arts and creativity can make positive change.

Working with local service providers and community groups, we creatively design projects that access 'hard to reach' groups of people, and approach the most difficult of issues in fun, non-threatening ways.

The team's work is nationally recognised as a model of good practice when it come to giving people a voice, highlighting opportunities and enriching communities.
